Learning Support Assistant (Music Background Preferred)

Inspire learning through creativity, confidence, and care.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant with a background or strong interest in music to support pupils across school settings in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to use their musical experience to engage and support young people, particularly those who benefit from a creative and relational approach to learning.

Whether you’ve studied music, performed, taught instruments, or simply have a passion for using music to connect with others, this role offers a chance to bring that experience into the classroom in a meaningful way.

The role:

• Supporting pupils in lessons, helping them access learning in a way that suits their individual needs

• Using creativity and musical understanding to engage and motivate students

• Providing 1:1 and small group support, including those with additional learning needs

• Assisting teachers in delivering inclusive, accessible lessons

• Encouraging confidence, participation, and positive behaviour through supportive relationships

• Helping to create a calm, structured, and positive learning environment

What we’re looking for:

• A background or strong interest in music (performance, study, or teaching experience is desirable)

• Experience working with children or young people is beneficial but not essential

• A patient, empathetic, and encouraging approach

• Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships

• A willingness to support pupils with a range of learning needs

What you’ll gain:

• Experience working in a supportive school environment

• Opportunities to develop skills in education and SEN support

• A chance to bring creativity and music into everyday learning

• Ongoing support and professional development opportunities

• A rewarding role where your impact is seen every day

This opportunity is an ideal opportunity for creative individuals who are interested in building a career in education while making a real difference to young people’s lives.

If you’re ready to bring your creativity into the classroom and support pupils to thrive, we would be happy to hear from you and discuss the next steps.
