This inclusive Bristol primary school understands that children learn best when they feel emotionally safe, understood and supported. With clear routines, strong pastoral care and a genuinely collaborative staff team, the school works hard to remove barriers to learning and wellbeing.

They’re now looking for a SEMH Educator who can provide stability, empathy and encouragement for pupils who need a little extra emotional support during the school day.

This is a rewarding, people-focused role where your calm presence and relationship-building skills will make a real difference.

Your role will include:

  • Providing 1:1 emotional and wellbeing support for pupils

  • Supporting children during moments of dysregulation and emotional distress

  • Encouraging positive routines, engagement and self-regulation strategies

  • Working closely with class teachers, SEN staff and pastoral leads

  • Helping pupils feel safe, valued and ready to learn

What we’re looking for:

  • A background in mental health, psychology, SEN, care or youth work

  • A patient, resilient and empathetic approach

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships

  • Confidence supporting children with emotional or behavioural needs

  • A calm, consistent presence in the classroom and wider school setting

Pay & benefits:

  • Daily rates from £89 to £95, paid weekly via PAYE

  • £250 referral bonus when you recommend an ECT

  • Less admin, fewer meetings and more time focused on supporting pupils

  • Free access to our CPD Academy, including wellbeing and SEN training

  • A local Bristol consultant who knows their schools and supports you properly

  • Regular, consistent bookings, with longer-term roles available if you want continuity

What you can expect:

  • Supportive, well-led primary schools across Bristol

  • Clear routines, expectations and pastoral structures

  • A collaborative team who value emotional wellbeing

  • Flexibility around days and placements where possible

  • Respect for your professional judgement and experience

This role is perfect if you:

  • Have experience supporting children or young people with emotional needs

  • Are calm, reflective and confident in challenging moments

  • Enjoy building meaningful, positive relationships

  • Want a role where your impact is felt every single day

What we need to clear you:

  • Passport or proof of right to work in the UK

  • Two proofs of address, such as a driving licence or utility bill

  • CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps explained

  • Two years of references, including childcare or support work where relevant

  • Overseas Police Check if you’ve lived abroad for three months or more in the last five years

If this sounds like the role you’ve been waiting for, apply today and help create the emotional foundations children need to thrive.
