Protocol Education is working closely with a specialist provision in Sunderland that caters for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism, and behavioural challenges. We are looking for a committed Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team and make a real impact on students’ lives.
The Role:

Provide consistent support to pupils with challenging behaviour

Help pupils develop strategies for managing emotions and building resilience

Support learning activities both inside and outside of the classroom
-
Use positive behaviour management techniques to maintain a safe and supportive environment
-
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to deliver individualised support
What We’re Looking For:
-
Experience supporting young people with SEMH, autism or behavioural needs (school-based or other relevant experience)

A calm, confident, and nurturing approach
-
Ability to build positive, professional relationships with students
-
Willingness to learn and adapt to different strategies and interventions
-
Relevant training (e.g., Team Teach, MAPA) is advantageous, but not essential
