Looking to start a career in education but not sure where to begin?
This could be your way in.
We’re working with a specialist SEN school in Sunderland supporting students aged 11–19 with autism and complex learning needs. It’s a setting where patience, consistency, and a calm approach matter more than years of experience.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups
- Helping pupils build confidence, communication, and independence
- Learning how to support students with autism and additional needs
- Working alongside experienced staff who will guide you day to day
What we’re looking for:
- A caring, reliable attitude
- Willingness to learn and get stuck in
- Experience with young people (even informal, coaching, care, family support) is a bonus
Why this role works:
- Full support and training provided
- A proper introduction into SEN education
- Opportunity to progress into a permanent role or Level 2/3 TA
If you’ve got the right attitude, we’ll help you build the rest.
