Level 2 BSL Teaching Assistant – Gateshead (Full-Time)

Protocol Education is recruiting a Level 2 BSL Teaching Assistant to support students with hearing and communication needs across schools in Gateshead. This is a full-time position starting in September.
You'll play a key role in removing barriers to learning by facilitating communication, supporting classroom participation, and promoting independence.
The Role
- Supporting learners through British Sign Language
- Assisting with classroom activities and learning objectives
- Helping students build confidence and communication skills
- Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff
- Travelling between schools and educational settings across Gateshead
Requirements
- Level 2 BSL qualification or equivalent experience
- Full UK driving licence and access to transport
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable
- Excellent interpersonal skills
