Job Duties:
- Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in the classroom
- Assisting the class teacher in delivering tailored educational activities
- Providing one-to-one support to students who require additional help (physical disabilities)
- Helping to create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Collaborating with other staff members and ensure engagement of non-verbal students
Required Qualifications:
- Recognised Teaching Assistant qualification
- Enhanced DBS check
- Knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities (personal experience)
Education:
- Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
Experience:
- Previous experience working with students with SEND ( Personal experience)
- Experience in a classroom setting is a plus
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of different learning needs and how to support them
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Patience and empathy towards students with SEND
Preferred Qualifications:
- First Aid certification
- Training in behaviour management techniques
- Health and Social Care
- Cache level 3
- Manual handling
