Protocol Education is recruiting a Graduate Pastoral Teaching Assistant for a school in Hexham, supporting pupils with their education, behaviour, confidence and wellbeing.
You won't simply be sitting at the back of a classroom. You'll become part of the wider support network around pupils, helping them overcome barriers and feel more confident in school.
Your Role
You'll support pupils both inside and outside the classroom, including:
- Developing positive relationships with pupils
- Supporting emotional wellbeing
- Encouraging positive behaviour
- Helping pupils manage difficult situations
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting pupils during lessons
- Encouraging communication and confidence
- Helping pupils become more independent
- Working with teachers and pastoral teams
- Creating a positive and supportive environment
Who We're Looking For
Your degree could be in:
Psychology | Sociology | Criminology | Education | Youth Work | Childhood Studies | English | Sports
Previous school experience isn't essential.
Perhaps you've volunteered with young people, worked in hospitality, coached a sports team, supported younger family members or simply have a natural ability to connect with people.
We're looking for graduates who are friendly, patient, confident and motivated to make a difference.
