The role at a glance

This is a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant role, working across KS1 every day:

  • Morning (4 hours): 1:1 support in Reception
  • Afternoon (2 hours): 1:1 support in Year 2

You’ll play a key role in helping two pupils feel confident, included, and ready to learn in their own way.

What you’ll be doing

This role is all about patience, encouragement, and building trust.

You’ll:

  • Support learning both 1:1 and in small group settings
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils
  • Encourage inclusion and positive interactions with peers
  • Adapt activities alongside the teacher to suit individual needs
  • Use praise and encouragement to build confidence and independence
  • Support the development of social skills in and out of the classroom
  • Share regular feedback with the teacher and SEND lead
  • Follow safeguarding and school policies to keep every child safe

The details

  • Hours: 6 hours per day (8:30am – 3:30pm)
  • Contract: Fixed term until August 2027 (linked to funding and pupil placement)
