SEN Teaching Assistant – Swindon

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in Swindon?

Protocol Education is recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across primary, secondary and specialist SEND settings. We are looking for caring and experienced individuals who are passionate about helping pupils with additional needs access learning and develop their confidence and independence.

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN/SEND.

  • Support pupils with needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD and complex needs.

  • Assist with classroom learning and individual learning programmes.

  • Support pupils with communication, social and emotional development.

  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.

  • Provide personal care and support with daily routines where required.

  • Support feeding and medication needs in line with appropriate training and school procedures.

  • Encourage independence, confidence and engagement.

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support teams.

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an SEN TA, Teaching Assistant, LSA, Learning Support Assistant or similar.

  • Previous SEN/SEND experience is highly desirable.

  • Experience supporting pupils with complex or additional needs is advantageous.

  • Experience with personal care, feeding or medication support is desirable.

  • Patient, calm and compassionate approach.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Reliable, resilient and professional.

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable but not essential.
