SEND Teacher

We’re supporting schools in Barking & Dagenham who are looking for an SEN Teacher able to bring clarity, consistency and warmth to pupils with a broad range of needs.
You’ll be working in a setting where pupils may present with autism, SEMH, communication differences or complex learning needs. Teachers here take a therapeutic, structured approach and work closely with a strong team of support staff.
The school environment is positive, steady and collaborative. It is perfect for a teacher who understands how vital routine and relationship-building are for SEND learners.
Your responsibilities
- Teaching and guiding pupils with varied and complex SEN profiles
- Planning purposeful, personalised lessons that encourage progress
- Liaising regularly with TAs, therapists and parents to maintain continuity
- Establishing a safe, predictable classroom that helps pupils regulate
- Using a calm, adaptable style to navigate day-to-day challenges
What we need from you
- QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience working in SEND or an alternative provision
- Strong behaviour management and a solutions-focused mindset
- Someone who works well in a joined-up, multi-agency environment
