The role

We are working in partnership with a well-established 11–18 secondary school in Northumberland to recruit a History Teacher for supply and long-term opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity for a subject specialist who can bring History to life and engage pupils through well-structured, thought-provoking lessons.

The Humanities department is collaborative and supportive, with clear schemes of work and a strong focus on consistency and high expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Teach History across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities may be available)

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that promote critical thinking

  • Differentiate learning to support a range of abilities

  • Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and engagement

  • Work collaboratively with department colleagues and support staff

The ideal candidate

  • QTS, QTLS, or equivalent UK teaching experience

  • Strong subject knowledge in History

  • Confident and consistent behaviour management

  • Flexible and reliable approach to supply or long-term work

  • Open to short-term, long-term, or permanent opportunities
