We are working with a welcoming and well-supported secondary school in Gateshead seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in the classroom, understands the secondary curriculum, and is committed to making a meaningful impact on students’ progress and wellbeing.

The Role

  • Full-time position supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Working closely with teachers to deliver targeted classroom support
  • Supporting students with varying needs, including SEND and behavioural support
  • Building positive relationships to promote engagement and learning

We Are Looking For:

  • Previous experience working in a secondary school setting (essential)
  • A confident, proactive individual who can manage classroom situations effectively
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • A genuine commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal development
  • Someone seeking consistent, full-time work

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Relevant experience working with young people in an educational setting
  • Right to work in the UK
