We are working with a welcoming and well-supported secondary school in Gateshead seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in the classroom, understands the secondary curriculum, and is committed to making a meaningful impact on students’ progress and wellbeing.
The Role
- Full-time position supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Working closely with teachers to deliver targeted classroom support
- Supporting students with varying needs, including SEND and behavioural support
- Building positive relationships to promote engagement and learning
We Are Looking For:
- Previous experience working in a secondary school setting (essential)
- A confident, proactive individual who can manage classroom situations effectively
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- A genuine commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal development
- Someone seeking consistent, full-time work
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Relevant experience working with young people in an educational setting
- Right to work in the UK
