Protocol Education is recruiting Secondary Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a range of secondary schools in Weston-super-Mare and surrounding North Somerset areas.

The Role

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to secondary pupils.

• Support classroom learning across KS3 and KS4.

• Assist with literacy, numeracy and subject-based activities.

• Support pupils with SEN/SEND and additional learning needs.

• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and independence.

• Build positive relationships with pupils.

• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff.

• Assist with classroom resources and learning activities.

• Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, SEN TA or similar.

• Recent UK secondary school experience is desirable.

• Experience supporting pupils in KS3/KS4.

• SEN/SEND experience is advantageous.

• Patient, caring and adaptable approach.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Reliable and professional.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable but not essential.
