Protocol Education is recruiting Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools in Weston-super-Mare and surrounding North Somerset areas.

The Role

• Deliver pre-prepared lessons and cover work.

• Supervise pupils across KS3 and KS4.

• Maintain positive classroom routines and behaviour.

• Ensure pupils remain engaged with their work.

• Follow lesson plans and school policies.

• Support a safe, calm and productive learning environment.

• Adapt to different subjects, year groups and classroom settings.

• Communicate effectively with teaching and support staff.

• Report any relevant issues or concerns to the appropriate school staff.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a secondary school or similar educational setting.

• Previous Cover Supervisor experience is desirable but not essential.

• Teaching Assistant or classroom support experience is advantageous.

• Confident classroom management skills.

• Strong communication and organisation.

• Calm, reliable and adaptable approach.

• Comfortable working across different subjects and year groups.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable but not essential.
