The Role
As a teacher within our SEMH setting, you will play a key role in supporting students with a variety of behavioural, emotional, and social challenges. This is a demanding yet highly rewarding position that involves:

  • Developing strong, trusting relationships with students, many of whom may have experienced trauma or faced difficulties in mainstream education

  • Delivering creative, differentiated lessons that support both academic progress and emotional wellbeing

  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, mental health professionals, and external agencies, to provide personalised support

  • Using effective strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification

  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs or within a similar setting

  • A resilient, positive mindset with the ability to remain calm under pressure

  • A strong understanding of how trauma and adverse childhood experiences impact behaviour and learning

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, along with a genuine passion for supporting students’ academic and personal development
