The Opportunity
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you'll play an important role in helping pupils feel supported, engaged and ready to learn.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing tailored support to children with a variety of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH needs and communication difficulties.
- Delivering one-to-one support and small group interventions throughout the school day.
- Helping pupils regulate their emotions and develop positive learning behaviours.
- Adapting activities and resources to suit individual learning styles and abilities.
- Encouraging independence, resilience and self-confidence.
- Supporting the class teacher in creating an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
- Working closely with SENCOs, teachers and external professionals to ensure children receive the support they need.
Who We're Looking For

- Have experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults.
- Are empathetic, patient and able to build positive relationships.
- Can remain calm and adaptable in a variety of situations.
- Understand the importance of consistency and routine for children with additional needs.
- Are committed to helping every child achieve their best.
- Have experience with SEND, behavioural support or intervention work (desirable but not essential).

What We Need to Clear You
Before starting work through Protocol Education, we'll need:
- Passport or evidence of your right to work in the UK
- Two recent proofs of address
- A CV covering the last 10 years of work and/or education history, with any gaps fully explained
- An overseas police clearance if you have lived abroad for 3 months or longer in the last 5 years
- An Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

All pay rates quoted are inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is initially offered on a temporary basis, although permanent opportunities may become available.
