Job Title: Behaviour Support Worker
Location: Newcastle
Salary: £85–£100 per day
Contract: Full-time, Long-term
Be the steady hand that helps turn things around.
We’re working with a brilliant PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) in Newcastle, and they’re looking for a Behaviour Support Worker who really gets the struggles young people experience. This is about more than just managing behaviour—it’s about helping pupils feel seen, supported, and set up to succeed.
These young people have faced challenges most of us can only imagine. Your role will be to help them build confidence, learn positive coping strategies, and get ready for the next steps in their journey—whether that’s a return to mainstream school or something new.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting young people to manage their emotions and behaviour
- Working closely with teachers, families, and external specialists to keep things consistent
- Creating a safe, supportive space where differences are respected and celebrated
- Helping students build resilience and self-belief, even on the tough days
- Contributing to individual behaviour plans and helping make them work in real life
We’re looking for someone who is:
Calm, kind, and ready to stick with pupils through the ups and downs
Able to build trusting relationships quickly
Strong in tricky situations, with a good sense of humour when it’s needed most
Committed to making a real difference, not just ticking boxes
Why this role?
Because you’ll be doing work that matters. You’ll be part of a team that believes every young person deserves the chance to grow, learn, and build a brighter future. Plus, you’ll have loads of support and opportunities to develop your own skills along the way.
