As a SEN TA, you will support children with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and physical disabilities. You will work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to ensure each child has the opportunity to succeed, both academically and socially. This role is ideal for those who value flexibility in their work while contributing positively to students' educational experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN, helping them to engage in classroom activities.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored education plans and interventions.
  • Support the physical, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  • Assist with classroom activities, personal care, or any other additional needs.
  • Collaborate with the school’s SENCO and teaching staff to monitor student progress.
  • Follow school policies, including safeguarding and behaviour management.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role is essential.
  • Knowledge of SEN and experience supporting children with additional needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, learning difficulties).
  • A patient, caring, and empathetic approach to working with children.
  • Excellent communication and team-working skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to different school environments.
  • A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential.

Benefits:

  • Competitive daily rate of pay.
  • Flexible working schedule with the ability to choose when and where you work.
  • The opportunity to work in a variety of SEN environments and develop professionally.
  • Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant.
  • Access to CPD and professional development opportunities.
