Pastoral Administration Assistant

Are you organised, calm under pressure, and great with people? This academically ambitious Secondary School is looking for a Pastoral Administration Assistant to join their supportive team and help keep the heart of the school running smoothly.

The school offers a rich, broad, and balanced curriculum from Year 7 right through to Sixth Form.

The Role

You’ll provide essential administrative support to the Heads of Year and the Director of Pastoral Care, helping the pastoral team run smoothly so pupils get the support they need.

Your day-to-day work will include:

  • Managing admin tasks for the Heads of Year and Director of Pastoral

  • Overseeing documentation from external agencies

  • Booking and coordinating meetings with parents, carers, and outside professionals

  • Producing and distributing the weekly Pastoral Bulletin

  • Preparing letters and supporting general pastoral communication

  • Supporting data tasks for Recognition Week

  • Administering Pastoral Support Plans, including arranging meetings, collecting feedback, and minute-taking

  • Sending reminders and keeping communication clear, timely, and supportive

This is a varied role where no two days are the same. You’ll be the calm, friendly link between staff, pupils, families, and external organisations.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong literacy skills

  • Excellent communication by phone and email

  • Confident, professional people skills

  • Ability to remain calm, organised, and confidential

  • Experience using Word, Excel, and Google Workspace

Desirable

  • Degree-level education

  • Experience using SIMS or Edulink

  • Experience working with young people
