A large, well-established secondary school in Ponteland, serving a wide catchment across Northumberland and the Newcastle fringe, is looking to appoint a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant.

You will be joining a setting where expectations are clear, behaviour is well managed and support staff play a key role in pupil progress.

The Role

As a SEND Learning Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide targeted 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs

  • Work with students with ASD, ADHD, dyslexia and SEMH profiles

  • Support pupils within mainstream lessons and small group settings

  • Help adapt tasks to ensure accessibility and engagement

  • Reinforce routines, focus and positive behaviour

  • Liaise with teaching staff and SENCO to track progress

You will support pupils across KS3 and KS4, helping them build both academic skills and confidence.
