Protocol Education is working with specialist educational settings across Sunderland to recruit SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Autism (ASC), complex learning needs, SLD, PMLD and communication difficulties.

You'll work as part of a dedicated team, helping pupils access learning through structured routines, sensory activities and personalised support.

About the role

• Full-time
• September start
• Monday-Friday
• Working hours between 8:30am and 4:30pm
• Term-time only
• Long-term placement with permanent opportunities

Your responsibilities

• Supporting pupils throughout the school day
• Delivering personalised interventions
• Assisting with sensory learning activities
• Supporting communication using visual aids where appropriate
• Encouraging independence and life skills
• Supporting personal care when required

• Experience supporting children with SEND
• Calm, nurturing and patient approach
• Excellent communication skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
