Are you a patient, resilient and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a child’s life?

A welcoming primary school in Harlow is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant with experience supporting pupils with Autism and behavioural needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with children who benefit from additional support, helping them develop confidence, communication skills and positive learning behaviours.

You will play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASD), SEMH, ADHD, speech and language needs, and complex learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in a supportive school environment.

 The Role

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Assisting children with Autism, SEMH and behavioural needs to engage with learning
  • Using positive behaviour strategies and emotional regulation support
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted support
  • Helping pupils build confidence, independence and social skills

 What We’re Looking For

  •  Experience supporting Autism (ASD) and behavioural needs
  •  Understanding of SEMH, ADHD or speech and language needs
  •  Calm, patient and nurturing approach
  •  Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  •  Previous experience in schools, SEN settings or support roles desirable
