We’re working with a friendly and well-regarded secondary school in Shrewsbury looking for a PE Teacher to join them for the academic year.

This is the kind of school where relationships matter. Staff support one another, pupils are respectful and engaged, and there’s a genuine sense of community across the school. It’s a welcoming environment where teachers are trusted to do their job well and encouraged to bring energy and personality into the classroom.

PE is a valued part of school life here. Lessons are active, inclusive, and focused on building confidence, resilience, and enjoyment of sport and physical activity. Pupils are encouraged to challenge themselves, work as a team, and take pride in their progress, whether they’re representing the school competitively or simply developing confidence in participation.

You’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative department with a strong team ethos. The curriculum is well planned, facilities are well maintained, and there’s a clear focus on creating positive experiences for all students. Staff are also encouraged to contribute to extracurricular activities and wider school life.

Behaviour across the school is well managed, with clear routines and consistent expectations helping to create a calm and respectful learning environment. Pastoral support is a real strength, with staff working closely together to ensure students feel supported both academically and personally.

This role could be a great fit if you:

  • Hold UK QTS, or are an ECT looking to build experience
  • Have experience teaching PE across KS3 and KS4
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Value teamwork and strong professional relationships
  • Want to be part of a supportive and down-to-earth school community
