The Role

As a History Graduate, you may work as a:

  • Teaching Assistant
  • Humanities Learning Support Assistant
  • Academic Mentor
  • SEND Teaching Assistant
  • Inclusion Support Assistant
  • Pastoral Support Assistant
  • Intervention Mentor

You'll gain invaluable experience by:

  • Supporting students on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
  • Assisting pupils across Humanities subjects and the wider curriculum.
  • Helping students develop critical thinking, analysis and communication skills.
  • Supporting learners with SEND, SEMH needs and additional learning needs.
  • Encouraging student participation and engagement in lessons.
  • Building positive relationships that promote confidence and resilience.
  • Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff and SEND professionals.
  • Helping create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

We're Looking For

  • A degree in History or a related Humanities subject.
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • A patient, adaptable and resilient approach.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
