SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
Secondary School – Enfield
Full-Time | Permanent

Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join a well-established secondary school in Enfield on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate professional with a proven track record in leading SEND provision and driving inclusive practice across a secondary setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision, ensuring all students receive appropriate support to achieve their full potential

  • Oversee the identification, assessment and monitoring of students with SEN, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records

  • Develop, implement and review EHCPs and SEN support plans in line with statutory requirements

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure high-quality differentiation and inclusive classroom practice

  • Line manage and support LSAs and support staff, ensuring effective deployment and development

  • Liaise with parents, carers, external agencies and the local authority to coordinate support for students

  • Monitor progress and attainment of SEN students, using data to inform interventions and improve outcomes

  • Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, SEND Code of Practice and statutory guidance

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working as a SENCO within a secondary school

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to obtain

  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes

  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills

  • Ability to drive whole-school SEND strategy and support staff development
