The Role
As an English Graduate, you may work as a:
- English Learning Support Assistant
- Literacy Intervention Assistant
- Teaching Assistant
- Academic Mentor
- SEND Teaching Assistant
- Inclusion Support Assistant
- Reading Support Mentor
You'll gain invaluable experience by:
- Supporting students on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
- Delivering literacy and reading intervention sessions.
- Helping students improve their reading, writing and communication skills.
- Supporting pupils who require additional assistance to access the curriculum.
- Encouraging confidence and engagement in English lessons.
- Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities.
- Working closely with English departments, SEND teams and pastoral staff.
- Helping students develop the skills they need to succeed across all subjects.

We're Looking For
- A degree in English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing or a related subject.
- A genuine passion for education and literacy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive, patient and adaptable approach.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships quickly.
- A commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
- Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
